On the other side: a latte that looks like it should cost $7.50 and come with a barista who knows your childhood trauma. La Colombe basically says, “Yeah, it looks plain — but wait till it hits your tongue.”

It plays with contrast. Boring can, fancy taste. Your brain loves the surprise, and the ad milks it in two panels.
